The Akademeia 21st Century Scholarship Program
Scholarship system for international students at each vocational school
At the Akademeia 21st Century, we offer a 'Scholarship for International Students' program for enrolled (and also post-graduation) students of Japanese language schools in Japan who are eager to enroll for the purpose of studying specialized technical knowledge. This program provides partial tuition fee waivers as scholarships.
Tuition exemption system
You can receive a tuition reduction of up to 300,000 yen depending on your performance at a Japanese language school before entering our school.
Tuition exemption systems include the "Scholarship for International Students by Recommendation from Designated School System for International Students" and the "The Akademeia 21st Century Student Scholarship System."

After entering the school, students can apply for scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization, private companies, etc., based on their achievements and attendance rate in the first year at our school.

The Scholarship for International Students by Recommendation from Designated School is a program that is available only to those who are
attending an institution designated by The Akademeia 21st Century or applying through an international student services organization.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant meets the school’s application requirements.
- The applicant displayed good attendance and good conduct in class at the educational institution in Japan or the last school attended.
- The applicant’s Japanese language proficiency is equivalent to level N2 of the Japanese- Language Proficiency Test.
- The applicant has been recommended by a Japanese language school, etc., designated by The Akademeia 21st Century.
- The applicant is applying to the school as their first choice.
Benefits
- JPY 300,000 reduction of tuition and fees (first year: JPY 100,000; second year: JPY 200,000)

Scholarship for International Students by Recommendation system
The Akademeia 21st Century has established the Scholarship for International Students by Recommendation to financially support outstanding
international students who are highly motivated to learn specialized skills and knowledge in Japan.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant meets the school’s application requirements.
- The applicant displayed good attendance and good conduct in class at the educational institution in Japan or the last school attended.
- The applicant has been recommended by a Japanese language school, etc.
Benefits
- The Akademeia 21st Century Scholarship for International Students by Recommendation A
200,000 yen reduction (100,000 yen in the first year, 100,000 yen in the second year) - The Akademeia 21st Century Scholarship for International Students by Recommendation B
100,000 yen reduction (50,000 yen in the first year, 50,000 yen in the second year)
Japan Student Services Organization Scholarship Program (JASSO)
International Student Acceptance Promotion Program (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Foreign Student Study Incentive Grant System)
Application qualification
- Applicants must have a GPA of 2.30 or higher in the first year and are expected to maintain it during the period of benefit.
- The average monthly remittance (excluding entrance fees, tuition fees, etc.) is 90,000 yen or less.
- If you have dependents living in Japan, their annual income must be less than 5 million yen.
- Applicants must not be receiving scholarships or other benefits that are restricted from being combined with learning incentives.
- Applicants must not be receiving support from the overseas study support system of the Institute. (with other detailed rules)
Benefit amount
- 48,000 yen per month
Benefit period
- 12 months (from April of the fiscal year in which the recipient was determined to March of the following year)
Schedule until adoption
- Late March Recruitment notification (Organization ➞ School)
- Mid-May Deadline for Recommendations (School ➞ Organization)
- Mid-June Notification of selection results (Organization➞School)
- Mid-July: First transfer of Honors Scholarship (April-June)
* After being recommended by our school, there will be an examination by the Japan Student Services Organization.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is for privately-financed international students from Asian countries who have excellent academic records and character and need financial assistance.

*After being recommended by our school, the Kyoritsu International Exchange Foundation will conduct an examination. The type of scholarship will be determined by the Kyoritsu International Exchange Scholarship Foundation.

IHNO Scholarship
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- Those who have applied to our school on the recommendation of a designated international student school
- Those who have a good class attendance rate and grades at a Japanese language school
- Those who work part-time (within 28 hours a week: Immigration Law Article 19)
*Long-term vacations determined by the school are 40 hours a week or less than 8 hours a day.
Benefit amount
- Depending on part-time job hours
50-79 hours a month: 10,000 yen/month
80-99 hours a month: 20,000 yen/month
100 hours or more per month: 30,000 yen/month
Benefit period
- 2 years (From the month following the date of selection as a recipient until the end of enrollment at the school) ➞ Partially 3 years
* After being recommended by our school, there will be an examination by the International Human Resources Exchange Support Foundation.
