- Q: Are you allowed to work part-time while attending school?
-
A.
It is recognized. However, this is within the regulations stipulated in the Immigration Control Act.
Under the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, international students can work part-time if they obtain permission for ``activity other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted'' at the local immigration bureau, etc. (Up to 28 hours a week, up to 8 hours a day during long vacations). Our school also allows part-time work as long as it falls within the regulations stipulated in the Immigration Control Act.
