[Introduction of works by current students] The tear in the darkness Tears in the darkness

Current student introduction

When I was working in Taiwan, there were cameras around, so I had several photo shoots. However, since there is no systematic education about photography in Taiwan, I decided to study photography in Japan. I have been able to learn a great deal because the teachers are of a very high standard and the resources available are large.

About this work

I'm currently in my first year, so I'm learning everything related to photography.
This photo was taken during a class held at a photo studio, and the theme was "photography of flowers" which was proposed by the teacher in charge. This photo was taken on Mother's Day, and the flower that was the subject of the photo was a carnation. While preparing for the shoot, I was thinking about my mother in Taiwan. My mother is a strong mother who works hard for her children but never shows how hard it is. When I came to Japan, I realized once again how great my mother was, and the inspiration for my work began to flow. I then added water droplets to this flower to create this piece.

Things used to complete this piece were flowers, a black background board, uniform light, a camera, a tripod, and a blue light. The shooting method used was continuous shooting. The class only had four hours to shoot, but they were able to complete the shoot in about two hours. However, it was actually a task that required a considerable amount of time and luck.
When arranging flowers, the relevant angles and light intensity should be considered. Precise adjustment and continuous shooting speed were also required when pouring water, but with the cooperation of my classmates, the shooting progressed. After a few adjustments and a bit of luck, I was able to take 50 photos and achieve this result. It took some time to organize and clean up afterward, but the moment the photos were completed, I felt all the hard work had paid off.
By completing this work, I felt that my own awareness of "beauty" had become a little firmer. Expressing beauty and conveying your feelings can be very difficult because each person has a different perspective when it comes to beauty. That's why it was a great accomplishment for me to be able to express the ``beauty'' within my consciousness here. Of course, this alone is not enough to continue communicating ``beauty'' in a better way. I will continue to work hard throughout my life.

In the future, I would like to learn not only photography but also animation. I am also very interested in music videos, so I would like to continue learning related to recording. My current goal is to get a job in Japan.
