Towards a "new place of learning" that goes beyond universities and vocational schools. 18 schools nationwide have had their names changed, and their curriculum teaches practical skills to be successful in the age of AI. [21st Century Academia]
21st Century Academia, a school corporation that aims to create a "new learning environment" that goes beyond universities and vocational schools, changed the names of its 18 schools nationwide on April 1, 2024.
We offer a unique, hands-on curriculum through cutting-edge expert courses in 45 fields, including design, visual arts, business, and hospitality. This curriculum will develop people who have acquired the "five professional skills" necessary to demonstrate excellent leadership and play an active role in the real world in the age of the AI revolution, such as "cross-industry collaboration skills" and "The 5 Interpersonal Competencies," and who will be called "intercultural globalists" who will be active not only in Japan but also around the world.
The accelerating "Fourth Industrial Revolution" and "Artificial Intelligence Revolution" will bring about changes in the market, industry, and society, which will fundamentally change the skills required of human resources. As a result, even talented people who have been considered excellent through the "educational deviation score" system up until now will lose their jobs to AI. In the midst of this storm of change, the very existence of "universities," which simply teach "knowledge" and grant "bachelor's degree" qualifications, will be called into question.
On the other hand, "learning places" where students can acquire solid skills in their respective specialized fields will likely attract new attention in the coming era. However, to be truly successful in the real world, students will need to acquire not only "expert skills" in their specialized fields, but also "The 5 Interpersonal Competencies." In order to develop such human resources, The Akademeia 21st Century is developing and promoting various curricula that will enable students to acquire the "The 5 Interpersonal Competencies."
What we hope for our graduates is not simply to be able to "get a job" in the company or industry of their choice. It is for them to become talented people who "thrive" in the company or industry they are employed in. And through that, we hope that all of our graduates will carve out wonderful lives for themselves.
With this wish in mind, we have chosen the path of evolution to become "The Akademeia 21st Century."
Our goal is to create a new learning environment that goes beyond universities and vocational schools.
